PROPERTIES - Avora’s inherent flame resistance is imparted at the molecular level during manufacture of the polyester fiber and will not wash or wear out. Licensed fabrics meet or exceed test standard NFPA-701-1999 and most other standards worldwide. Characteristics include good dimensional stability, excellent colorfastness, excellent strength and durability and desirable hand.
Avora® FR fabrics exhibit the same properties as regular polyester but with the added benefit of flame resistance. Avora FR fabrics can be dyed and printed with no detrimental impact on performance.
Avora FR fabrics can be washed and dry cleaned. By properly following our guidelines, stains can be treated without affecting the flame resistance. Avora FR fabrics have a longer lifetime than topically-treated competitors and are up to 30 percent less expensive to laundry than treated cotton*.
Avora is environmentally friendly and can be recycled. Because toxic chemicals are not used during fiber manufacturing to achieve flame resistance, the fiber itself does not contribute to any environmental issues associated with downstream fabric finishing processes. There is less water and energy consumption in washing and drying due to low water absorption properties.
